Corporate & Shareholder Disputes
Disputes between shareholders, or between a board and its shareholders, are rarely only about money. They usually involve questions of control, trust and the future direction of the business. We advise on corporate governance, directors' duties, minority shareholder remedies including oppression and derivative actions, and disputes affecting ownership or control of a company. Where possible, we aim to resolve these disputes in a way that preserves the underlying business, recognising that a prolonged shareholder dispute can itself become the biggest threat to the company's value.
